Moving Tips
Removal boxes: Please try to ensure all boxes are secure at the bottom, and taped closed at the top ready to go into the van.
Boxes left open are potentially dangerous and can cause injury.
Overloaded boxes: Do not overload any of the boxes so that they are difficult to carry, and try to spread the weight evenly between boxes, particularly books which can be very heavy.
Bags: Loose clothing, bedding and small durable items can be put into strong black bin bags and tied at the top. Also, it is much better to put lots of small light items into one big bin bag, rather than lots of small bags.
Mirrors and pictures: These are best protected by bubble wrap, which is a cheap and very effective. See the cardboard boxes page if you wish to purchase boxes and bubble wrap online.
Loading: Man with a Van removalist will load the boxes and heavier durable items into the van first, so please try to have those nearest to the door to avoid blocking the hallway.
Parking space: If appropriate, try to reserve or block off a parking space close to your door 30 min's before the van arrives. If your road is wide enough Van Man will usually double park and load quickly.
Confirming: Man and Van will text you a few hours before the move to reconfirm the appointment. This is just to reconfirm that all is ok and on schedule. Please see terms for further information.
